Driving through the rain-shadow desert to the ancient sky caves and Ghar Gompa felt otherworldly, like a scene from a fantasy novel. Highlights included the vibrant Tiji Festival vibes (we timed it perfectly) and the serene visit to Muktinath Temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. The jeep handled the off-road paths effortlessly, and our guide shared fascinating stories about the region's Tibetan heritage. Accommodations were basic but clean, and the scenery—those eroded cliffs and barley fields—was unreal. A must-do for anyone seeking adventure and culture in one go.

The jeep safari from Pokhara to Muktinath and then to Lo Manthang was thrilling yet comfortable, with stunning vistas of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks along the way. We loved exploring the walled city of Lo Manthang, interacting with the friendly Lobas, and soaking in the hot springs at Tatopani on the return. I recently completed the 7-day Upper Mustang Overland Tour, and it was an absolute highlight of my Nepal trip! Flying into Jomsom and then jeep-ing through the arid landscapes to Lo Manthang felt like stepping into a time machine. The views of the Kali Gandaki Gorge and the dramatic rock formations were breathtaking, and visiting the ancient monasteries like Namgyal Gompa was mesmerizing. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the Tibetan Buddhist culture, and the comfortable 4WD jeep made the rugged roads manageable. The food was simple but authentic, with plenty of thukpa and momos. If you're short on time but want to experience the "Forbidden Kingdom," this tour is perfect. Highly recommend
